Scope Of Work
The Rose M. Lopez Elementary School is a new 3-story, 128,000 sf facility, created to serve 800 students in grades Kindergarten through Second. The project, which cost approximately $56.4 million to construct, was built for the Perth Amboy School District and recently celebrated its opening on September 24, 2019.
Epic Management, Inc. served as the Design-Builder for this NJSDA construction project, which includes 38 classrooms, six Small Group Instruction Rooms, four Basic Skills/ESL/Resource rooms, a computer lab, a speech room, a Science Demonstration room, a multipurpose room, several music rooms for vocalists and instrumentalists, a gymnasium, a media center, a cafeteria, and outdoor play space. In addition to offering these educational amenities, the building was designed to be LEED-certified (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) and is expected to reach LEED Silver status.
The construction of the new elementary school has provided and will continue to provide an array of benefits to the local community. It has helped to employ the individuals who constructed it, as well as the staff & faculty who are currently operating and teaching at the school. The new school will support the growing population of Perth Amboy and will provide valuable, state-of-the-art resources to its youngest learners.
