Scope Of Work
Recipient of the ABC Keystone LEED Green Award, this science building expansion included the construction of a new three-story, 16,300 sf wing that houses classrooms and laboratories for the Physics, Ecology, Biology, and Chemistry departments. The $7.3 million construction – part of a larger $13 million project, also included renovations to the existing 20,000 sf building featuring dedicated space to the school’s award winning Robotics program. Designed by SMP Architects of Philadelphia, the LEED Silver certified science center features sustainable elements such as a rain water cistern, a daylight harvesting lighting system which regulates lighting based upon the incoming natural light, and a rain screen veneer to help prevent heat gain and reduce cooling costs.
