Scope Of Work
As the country’s oldest farmers’ market, Lancaster Central Market is a landmark building which draws hundreds of visitors every week. Warfel was contracted to manage this historic renovation project. While the appearance of the Market did not change significantly, many systems were upgraded to improve efficiency. This included updating the lighting, sprinkler and heating systems, and installing ventilation fans. An elevator and public viewing area at the mezzanine level gives visitors an aerial view of the Market.
One of the most impressive aspects of this project is that the Market continued to operate throughout construction; the Warfel team orchestrated 19 phases of construction, involving standholder tear-downs and relocations.
