Scope Of Work
New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, is known as one of the leading art schools in the country and a preeminent center for the study of the performing, cinematic and emerging media arts. The project scope for the schools’ Undergraduate Drama Studios and Graduate Musical Theater includes several sound reducing features such as isolated ceilings, acoustic windows and raised isolated floors.
Turner partnered with NYU and their consultants to build these performance spaces with all the acoustical requirements and ensured all specifications were being met. This phased work was scheduled around both the students and faculties performing schedules.
Re-stacking and working within a pre-war, landmarked building, required extensive coordination with the landmark preservation commission. In addition, the project team worked within the occupied building requiring phased scheduling in order to decrease any disruption.
