Gregory Perricone, CSP, CHST, is the founder and president of our company. Greg as he prefers to be known, earned his Bachelor's Degree in Fire Service & Safety Administration at SUNY Empire State College in 2000. Greg served 25 years of faithful and honorable service with the United States Air Force until his retirement in 2006 as a Chief Master Sergeant. It was at the begining of his final ten years of military service that he cross-trained from First Sergeant to Ground Safety. In Ground Safety, Greg was responsible for planning, organizing, and directing safety activities at a Combat Rescue Wing. Following retirement Greg started a new career as a safety specialist with one of the world's largest property and casualty insurance brokerages in New York City. There he attained his Construction Health and Safety Technician certification while overseeing $60M in Construction Infrastructure projects with Owner Controlled Insurance Programs from NYC to Washington, D.C.. Wanting to be closer to home and following award of the gold standard in safety, the board certified - Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Greg took a position with a Long Island, New York safety management company. It was there as the CSP of Record for 5 general contractors he managed construction safety activities, inspections and directed site safety representatives at 25 New York City Department of Environmental Protection Waste Water Pollution Control Plants over a 5 year period. In 2011, the opportunity presented itself to go into business together with his oldest son, Nathan, who is our vice president, and Safety Consulting & Compliance Corp. was born. Having suffered hearing loss from his exposure to jet noise while working on far too many USAF Flightlines', Greg was diagnosed with a service-related disability by the US Department of Veterans Affairs and has self-certified the company as a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). Since then he has patiently waited as the US Small Business Administration reviews his application for formal recognition as a SDVOSB. Greg's leadership continues to grow the company adding site safety managers, OSHA courses, OSHA recordkeeping, inspections and notice of violation assistance as well as a wide body of expertly written construction related health and safety articles, policies and programs. Greg and his spouse of 47 years happily reside in Canton, CT.
