Scope Of Work

JMT provided full-time construction management and inspection services for the new Edward Felegy Elementary School in Hyattsville, MD. This project, which was designed to achieve LEED® Gold certification, involved the construction of a steel-framed structure with a masonry façade. The school’s features included vegetated roof systems as well as membrane roofing, a geothermal system with 154 wells, new classrooms, an auditorium with an elevated stage, gymnasium, cafeteria, music room, arts room, administrative offices, and a teachers’ lounge. Additionally, the project included sports fields and two play areas with poured rubber surfaces, wood seating, and playground equipment.

JMT provided a full-time, on-site Project Manager whose duties included monitoring and inspecting all work performed in the contract. We conducted bi-weekly progress meetings with Prince George’s County Public Schools system officials, the contractor, and A/E firm representatives. We also provided daily progress photos and special condition photos to document actual field conditions and activities, tracked labor and equipment use daily, reviewed certified payroll, and conducted MBE / DBE compliance field meetings to ensure compliance.

In addition to the construction of a new elementary school, the project included site work such as landscape, utilities, improvements, fencing, paving, site water collection, and sewer and water systems.
