This gut renovation focused on liberating a 3,000 square foot landmarked townhouse from the confines of its small scale and irregular lot shape. Preserving the original building's flow, the scheme amplifies, animates and daringly modernizes the fundamental period elements. Inconveniently located load bearing columns are clad in manipulations of stainless steel; the narrow stair stands in dramatic counter- point to a custom bronze and glass
screen; confined spaces are opened up and allowed to breathe in sunshine which plays over exquisitely laid tiles and stylish hardware, fixtures. art and furnishings.
