E85 Fueling Systems
Under a $3 million project to Clean, Inspect, and Repair Tanks, Gilbane is providing fuel system maintenance services for 10 aboveground storage tanks. Work includes interior tank cleaning, API 653 inspection of out-of-service tanks, STI inspections, gauge tube installation and implementation of repairs associated with the inspections.
Gilbane also completed execution for the state of Hawaii’s first, fully operational, E85 fueling system. The Marine Corps Base Hawaii commenced the 10,000-gallon, E85 storage tank and dispensing fuel system with a ribbon cutting ceremony, establishing the Military Base as a “green” benchmark for sustainable and environmental initiatives.
Gilbane provided all execution to launch this sustainable energy resource as an economical alternative to fossil fuels in support of the US Marine Corp’s -mandated gasoline reduction goals. Our team installed all electrical, communications, and plumbing connections associated with the E85 systems installation, and performed all cleaning, inspection, testing and commissioning of the new tank.
