Scope Of Work

In May 2016, Light Lab received Petal Certification from the International Living Future Institute’s Living Building Challengeprogram. Light Lab was the first Living Building Challenge Petal Certified project in the state of Georgia and the first restoration project in the entire Southeastern United States. The ILFI’s Living Building Challenge is a building certification program, advocacy tool and philosophy that defines the most advanced measure of sustainability in the built environment possible today. 

The conceptual design of the interior renovation for Light Lab was provided by students from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), and the building is now home to all of the commercial and hospitality product design teams in the Mohawk organization.

HOW WE HELPED

As a beacon of sustainability, much was considered in the re-branding of this office space. It was about more than just beauty. Mohawk Group Design Center wanted all materials that were installed to be vetted and comply with the Living Building Challenge Red List.

We provided Light Lab with support from an initial sketch to the finished product. The timeframe for this office branding project was approximately 1 month in which we presented ideas for environmental design, helped them determine the path of design, interior signage using reclaimed wood recycled from the old building, and of course great attention to each detail. 

From Dimensional Signage to Wall Art using Mohawk carpet in displaying their logo, we helped engineer and install the perfect visuals for this environmentally advanced office space. This project included magnetic receptors, printing, fabrication of boxes, sketches, interior signage, directional signage and engineering.
