CenKen Group, LLC (CenKen) is a full-service geotechnical engineering consulting firm located in Odenton, Maryland.  The firm was founded in 2009 to offer practical and cost effective solutions to problems related to the earthworks aspect of a project.  Our mission is to be the most efficient and reliable engineering firm of choice in the markets we serve.  We provide a complete spectrum of Geotechnical and Quality Assurance services to both public and private sector clients.  Those services include:

  • Geotechnical/geo-environmental engineering,
  • Construction management,
  • Quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC),
  • Acceptance testing,
  • Civil and materials inspection,
  • Laboratory materials testing, and
  • Comprehensive subsurface explorations.

 

As a professional and innovative firm, we are committed to provide those services through innovative approaches, quality services and engineering excellence.  Our personnel hold professional engineering and geology licenses, and advanced certifications including NICET, ACI, MARTCP, WACEL and other nationally recognized agencies.  We are highly experienced in managing and delivering complex geotechnical and construction testing/ inspection projects successfully.

Laboratory Soil, Rock and Concrete Testing Services

Our laboratory is equipped to handle most civil engineering material testing requirement.  We have the resources and equipment to perform in a timely manner a wide array of material testing, which includes, but is not limited to:

  • Natural density and moisture content determination
  • Atterberg limits
  • Grain size distribution (sieve and hydrometer)
  • Moisture density (proctor) testing
  • California Bearing Ratio (CBR)
  • Soil unconfined compressive strength testing
  • Concrete compressive strength testing

 

Construction Monitoring, Field Inspection and Testing Services

Our inspection staff is well trained and consists of project teams led by an experienced Professional Engineer, who is the single point of client contact, and a high degree of principal involvement.  The services provided include:
