Scope Of Work
This project included repairs to the pier superstructure (reinforced concrete decking, beams, and pile caps), concrete-supporting piles, and concrete deck curbing. Work also included replacement of the deteriorated and damaged asphalt topping, repair of the depressed pier deck, and replacement of the deteriorated and damaged timber pile fender system with a new concrete fender system. Other work included removal and replacement of utility lines to accomplish repairs to the pier structure, modification of existing deck drains to prevent slab soffit spalling, hazardous material abatement (asbestos and lead-based paint), and installation of an oil containment flotation device alongside the pier.
