Scope Of Work
SSG working with T Ford construction to help repair an existing dam in Dedham, MA. The dam being over 100 years old was in disrepair and SSG installed a new 4" thick layer of concrete via the wet mix shotcrete method. The town wanted to match existing colors and ended up choosing a beige color which the readymix supplier was able to provide. The final finish was a light broom finish. We chose this finish as it would not be too slippery for wildlife to potentially help themselves move out of the water if they encountered it.
SSG installed dowels and WWF onto the surface of the old dam and used ACI certified nozzlemen to install the new 4000 PSI shotcrete layer.
Shotcrete bonds to existing concrete extremely well. The new layer is now part of the existing dam.
