Jim Campbell's Bio
A native of the North Shore Chicago area, Jim Campbell attended New Trier High School. After high school, Jim’s fascination with muscle cars led to a vocation in restoring classic cars and eventually to enrolling in trade school. Jim attended the Wyoming Technical Institute in Laramie, where he became certified in automotive collision repair, automotive finishing and automotive upholstery repair. After completing his training, Jim moved to the San Francisco Bay Area to pursue his career. Eventually Jim left the automobile detailing industry to enter the residential painting business, which was growing rapidly along with the Bay Area’s construction boom. He was able to put the skills, technologies and systems he had gained in trade school and successfully deploy them in architectural coatings. Jim’s first home was a “fixer.” The home restoration process ignited a new passion, much like his love for muscle cars. Soon, Jim apprenticed as a finish carpenter to become skilled craftsman. In 1997, Jim earned his California State Painting Contractors License. Afterward, he launched James Campbell Painting, where he focused on high-standard residential painting. Jim has been married to Bel since 1991, and together they are raising three vibrant boys: Ian, Harrison and Rowan.
Tom Warton's Bio
A Marin County native, Tom Warton entered construction at age 18 and became a California State-licensed painting contractor in 1988. After he identified an industry-wide skilled labor shortage, he decided to work under other licensed contractors to become proficient in mainstream construction trades–framing, plumbing, electrical, heating, drywall and more. This important background led to him being licensed as a general contractor. With a passion for industrial psychology and an understanding of the marketplace, Tom sought to develop competitive advantage in a local construction industry starving for high quality services and craftsmanship. He graduated with a degree in Business, Management, and Economics at the State University of New York in Saratoga, New York (better than 4.0 GPA). Afterward, Tom transformed his initial construction company into the TJ Built of today with its reputation for highquality work. Spending his formative years in Mill Valley, California, Tom graduated Tamalpais High School. Tom has been married to Debra since 1989. They continue to share in raising two delightful daughters, Catherine and Allie.
