Scope Of Work
MoDOT; J8P2226, Rte. 76 – Taney County Bridge over Bull Shoals Lake bid on April 21, 2017. This was a 1000’ (7) Span Concrete NU 70 girder Bridge. This project consisted of (3) bents in Water with 6’-6” Rock Sockets and 7’ Drilled Shafts. This project consisted of several Geotechnical challenges we had to overcome resulting in additional Shafts, larger spread footings, and redesigning of (2) bents. Due to karst formations Dynamic Pile monitoring was performed on every piling. These redesigns and additional testing caused significant delay on the front end of this project, but by rearranging our construction sequence we were able to progress the project schedule thru the winter of 2018 to complete the bridge construction on time and under budget.
Lehman Construction partnered with MoDOT to generate a traffic switch plan that eliminated the need for a complete closure of Rte. 76 per Local government’s request. Initially the contract allowed a 14 day closure of Rte. 76 to perform the traffic switch. By adjusting Road grades and adding asphalt wedging this work was completed with 0 closure days.
