Description: This project involved the retrofit of an existing Sam's Club shell building into the Anchor building at the new Baltimore Based Under Armour Apollo Campus. F&SS utilized the column load schedule to provide a design build Helical Pile solution which provided almost $200,000 in savings compared to the base pile design. The installation required pre-drilling approximately 10 to 13 feet at each pile location to remove obstructions in the upper fill layer. After the Helical Piles were installed the 14-inch predrilled shaft and the interior of the pipe shaft were filled with grout. All pre-drilling and installation of the almost 300 pile locations were completed on schedule within 3 weeks.
