Scope Of Work

Silver Hill Hospital is a nationally recognized, non-profit hospital for the treatment of psychiatric and addictive disorders, a unique and extraordinary place that people have relied on since 1931 to help them find the path back to mental health and wellness.  They sought out Civil 1 to create a campus-wide master plan to help them understand the existing infrastructure of the 42-acre New Canaan campus in order to plan for on-going upgrades to the campus facilities.  

Civil 1 provided on-call engineering and land use services for the design and implementation of these infrastructure improvements.  Projects on the Silver Hill Hospital campus included the design, permitting approval, and replacement of two bridges spanning the Silvermine River; evaluation, design, and repair of the subsurface sanitary treatment facilities, and campus-wide master planning for access and traffic circulation.

Civil 1's extensive knowledge of the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection's regulations and procedures was critical in saving Silver Hill Hospital millions of dollars in permitting, design, and construction costs associated with the septic system improvements throughout the campus.
