Scope Of Work
PJ Aero, a leading designer of aircraft interiors, required a new aircraft hangar to serve as a fixed-base operations facility for their services at the Waterbury-Oxford Airport. The multi-phase construction process for this hangar complex includes the demolition of existing buildings, the importation, placement, and proper compaction of over 150,000 cubic yards of select fill, and the construction of taxiways, aprons, and over 125,000 square feet of hangar and administration space.
Civil 1 provided complete site engineering services for this three-phase development and effectively led the project team through the complex approval and continuing construction administration process.
Civil 1 coordinated the approvals from both the Connecticut Airport Authority and the Federal Aviation Administration. Additionally, in-depth environmental studies were completed and a thorough assessment delivered to the FAA to outline appropriate environmental compliance for the project in conformance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the CT Department of Environmental Protection regulations.
