Details of iTV Multimedia Studio Construction

Pavarini was chosen to conduct construction management of a multimedia studio for iTV’s new Stamford, CT location. This 30,000sf interior project is located in The Village, a newly constructed and highly innovative campus on Canal Street.

As a leading multimedia company, the iTV team seeks specific construction details and procedures relative to sound control and abatement. The rooms built were crucial to the television production experience, allowing for an Audio Mix Suite, Offline Edit room, and Offline and Online Screening and Viewing rooms.

Additionally, the space contains a support space for production work. This includes office spaces, edit rooms, conference rooms, a board room, lounge area, and a C-Suite.

Innovative Spaces

Furthermore, Pavarini was enlisted to fulfill iTV’s needs for the full-floor interior renovation. These included office spaces on the building’s perimeter, conference rooms, edit bays, an audio mix room and voiceover rooms. Many of the rooms—specifically the online and mix rooms—were complete with cutting-edge technology that will set iTV America ahead of its competition.

“The high level of acoustical needs definitely sets this kind of construction apart from your average office building,” says project Super, Matt Bruno. “The audio mix room was certified by Dolby and is one of only a handful of mix rooms on the East Coast to have that acoustical certification.”

Coordination and Communication During Construction

Notably throughout the project, a challenge for the Pavarini team included coordinating work with the landlord general contractors.

Another major challenge was having to build without disruption to schedule at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic. Project Manager Jamie Dunn and Super Matt Bruno utilized superb communication skills through multiple networks. Our team successfully led all vital meetings virtually, solidifying schedules and successfully carrying out plans for daily work.
