Apply Asphalt Bonding Agent (Hot-Tar)

Apply Hot- Mix Asphalt at 1.5 inch Depth Over Parking Lot

Description:

Mill existing asphalt within specifications

Remove asphalt from soft areas

Grade and stabilize soft areas

Clean debris off of existing asphalt

Haul away any left over milling debris

Apply bonding agent (hot- tar)

Apply Hot-mix asphalt application

Challenges:

This week our team found themselves in Tupelo Mississippi, performing a resurface on an existing parking lot for New Beginnings Adoption Center. This particular job came with the challenge of time. Our team arrived Tuesday night and worked tirelessly to beat the clock as we were expecting rain Friday. This job also posed a challenge by way of unforeseen soft areas in the parking lot, which created a slightly bigger project then anticipated. With all of these factors in mind, our highly skilled team went straight to work bright and early Wednesday morning, carefully milling down the existing asphalt and tearing out the soft areas. Once the soft areas were dug down, we made use of the milled asphalt to provide a hard and stable base. This process led into Thursday morning, where our expert team finished the milling and grading, ensuring proper water flow and being aware of any drain outs present. This led into the application of our hot-tar bonding agent being applied to the now milled and clean surface. Once the tar was applied, our team readied the equipment and made short work of laying the asphalt, once again obtaining the smooth, even finish and adding another satisfied customer to the list.

Although our team put in a hard 2 days work in order to beautify and stabilize this parking lot, we weren’t the only ones putting in hard work. Every day the New Beginnings Adoption Center in Tupelo, MS is working hard to prepare families for adoption. They work very closely with the children and adoptive parents in order to ensure these children, who were once victims of the system, have a safe and loving home to go to. They also work closely in rehabilitation of birth parents, ensuring that if reunification is possible all possible resources are exhausted to bring families back together.
