Scope Of Work

The scope of this project was the scope that Spalding Concrete provides best, asphalt paving and grading. We were responsible for the GAB grade work and all of the paving associated with the parking lot for the multi-tenant apartment complexes being constructed. This was the second phase of a 2 phase project, the first phase being a separate apartment complex built, ground up, near this site. We were also responsible for the grading and paving on that phase as well. 

Our biggest challenges associated with these projects were working with the other subcontractors in order to be able to pave while they were continuing their scopes of this project without interfering with their work, and ensuring that all handicap areas were ADA compliant. The first of the challenges involved speaking to and maintaining a good relationship with the other sub-contractors on site. These relationships made for a seamless transition from GAB to asphalt without interrupting their work, or sacrificing the quality of ours. The second challenge was solved by expert use of our paving equipment and the know how of our team. We were able to both machine lay and hand work the ADA compliant sites in order to achieve the appropriate flow of water and the appropriate slope percentage. 

Once finished and inspected the General Contractor was, as always, impressed with our work.
