Scope Of Work
Located on the ground floor of Arena Place—an 11-story mixed-use development in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids—The Wheelhouse is a 6,000 square foot American Bistro restaurant that seats up to 270 guests. The new concept developed by Meritage Hospitality Group features a variety of unique dining zones, including an LED backlit bar with two 72-inch HD TVs and culinary hearth; a large porch that seats 85, three built-in fireplaces, a 12 ft. HD video wall with nine screens; and a quieter, reserved dining room area.
Orion Construction completed construction on the restaurant in time for a series of soft openings, onboarding and training of 120 staff members. Careful coordination was made for overlapping schedules, construction and material traffic to other ground floor buildouts, and reactivating the streetscape to give the Wheelhouse a seamless grand opening for customers and staff.
