Scope Of Work
What was previously an 80 year old building is now one of Grand Rapids most popular farmhouse-inspired craft breweries and restaurant. It also holds the title as the first LEED microbrewery in the world.
This renovation in the of an existing funeral parlor, daycare center and car repair shop into a pub/restaurant and full manufacturing brewery in the Fairmount Square Historic District. The new 5,000 square foot interior features limestone archways, walnut booths and a dramatic arched-shape bar which is complemented by a stained glass window rising behind it. Oak paneled columns and a vaulted ceiling with exposed trusses complete the look.
A connected 10,000 square foot barrel-roofed building that once housed a car repair shop contains the brewery. The Euro-styled beer garden offers outdoor service during warmer months. The project received its LEED Silver certification in 2012 with a few of the following features:
· High efficiency heating/cooling units with CO2 sensors with a 7% energy savings
· Rainwater reclamation to reduce the pressure on our city’s wastewater treatment plant
· Low flow toilets and waterless urinals, saving nearly 50,000 gallons of potable water annually
