Scope Of Work
The Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) engaged Ghirardelli Associates to manage their Hub Signage program in July of 2012. The project aimed to significantly improve passenger and commuter experiences by modernizing the informational and wayfinding signage at intermodal transit hubs throughout the greater Bay Area. The signage included static directional signs to help passengers navigate between modes of transportation, display cases with changeable location maps and other transit information poster and Real Time Displays (RTDs) which provide locally relevant bus, train and ferry arrival times updated on a minute by minute basis. The initial contract was for nine transit hubs, but the work expanded to include two more.
