Scope Of Work
The purpose of the Flint Cultural Center Academy is to bring education beyond the classroom, and excite students to learn. E&L Construction Group created an extremely aggressive schedule to have this project completed by the first day of school. A similar building would take around 18 months to build. We built this 78,000 SF charter school in 13 months.
The exterior of the building was designed primarily of glass with a flowing curvature of walls. There are 27 classrooms, a gymnasium, cafeteria, and multiple collaborative learning spaces including a twenty-two-foot-wide interactive staircase called the “Learning Stairs” for out of classroom learning. Ground breaking took place June 26, 2018 and they opened August 19, 2019 for the first day of school.
