Scope Of Work
Jamison Masonry won the historical restoration of the Reading Bandshell through Uhrig Construction. The project consisted of masonry cleaning, stone pointing and replacement, selective concrete repair, latex modified cementitous overlay to the stage floor, and a complete restoration of the terra cotta medallion at the front wall. Replacement stone samples were approved after multiple mortar mock-ups, and the Jamison team hit the ground running to complete the work before the required completion date.
The restoration of the terra cotta medallion, a small but crucial part of the project, was accomplished by working in conjunction with Kreilick Conservation L.L.C. The restoration required the conservator to obtain multiple samples, perform special cleaning procedures, and furnish custom colors to restore the beautiful medallion to its original state. Thanks to a diligent team effort, all work was successfully completed within the project’s tight deadline.
