Roof Details

Existing roof – SPF foam roof over Hot Asphalt roof

Unique Challenges

SPF roof was applied 20 years ago, did not have a quality coating on it. This caused the SPF to breakdown in some areas, water became trapped between layers

Roof did not have proper slope for the SPF system, causing severe ponding and water infiltration

Active bowling alley – Care had to be taken to tear off not more than we could cover in a day. Crew worked until 12:00 midnight one night to get it done.

Multiple leaks

Decking was rusted in some areas

Roof did not enough drains

Solution

Due to the poor condition of the roof, a complete tear off was needed

Existing roof was 5” thick, making for a lot of tear off labor

We replaced 2000 square feet of rusted decking

We installed a predesigned Tapered Insulation System to eliminate the ponding water

We installed 6 new roof drains, hired a plumber to run new PVC drain lines to the grade

We installed Conklin’s PVC single Ply, Flexion, attached to the roof deck with screws, all seams were heat welded

Building has a  new roof with an excellent foundation
