Scope Of Work

Crossland Construction Company was selected for the $23 million Raymore-Peculiar High School addition and renovation project. New space measuring 104,000 square feet was added to the current facility, and 90,000 square feet of existing space was renovated. Today, the school measures 270,000 square feet and is home to high school students grades nine through twelve. 

The new construction and existing structure came together through exterior finishes to blend the two shell aesthetics. The unified buildings are comprised of exterior insulation finishing, brick, and architectural metal panels. The original structure had a new color applied to its EIFS, again for visual fluency. The same care was taken on the inside. All interior public areas received new vinyl composition tile flooring. Select classrooms received new flooring and ceilings, depending on the overall scope of work to be completed in each room 

The 104,000 square foot, two-story addition includes an area for freshman core classes, a new media center, a culinary arts classroom, additional space for fine and performing arts classes, and the relocation of some classrooms and offices. Additional facility improvements include renovated kitchen and cafeteria areas. Crossland crews also constructed a never-before-had storm shelter for the campus. This 15,000 square foot FEMA concrete dome not only serves as storm protection for the occupants of the Raymore-Peculiar High School, but is also the location of the new gymnasium, complete with restrooms and locker rooms.
