Scope Of Work
The City of Tulsa selected Crossland Heavy Contractors for their 61st and Memorial Arterial Street project. Crews were tasked with widening the road, installing a 48 inch waterline, laying PCC pavement, and pouring curbing and guttering, all while keeping the busy business district accessible to patrons and traffic alike.
The project at 61st and Memorial in Tulsa, Oklahoma was the city’s response to both a busy business district and an increase in population. However, the project parameters extended beyond just widening the road’s surface. Crossland crews were tasked with performing 12,100 cubic yards of excavation and installing 2,500 linear feet of 48 inch waterline. Two thousand six hundred plus tons of asphalt were used. Nearly 19,300 square yards of nine inch Portland Cement Concrete pavement was laid. The process with which PCC pavement is laid is intricate, and involves placement, consolidation, finishing, curing, and jointing, all in rapid succession. The result of this tedious process is the surface upon which vehicles drive. Finally, Crossland teams formed and poured 8,100 linear feet of curbing and guttering. Known for our self-perform capabilities, Heavy crews self-performed nearly every detail of the Tulsa project, saving the City of Tulsa money and keeping the project within the predetermined budget parameters.
