The Barnhart-Reese team recently completed the first 24/7 restaurant and first Kosher Certified Kitchen at UC San Diego. The 13,500 square foot renovation and expansion replaces a 26 year old existing servery style restaurant and dining area located on the 5th level of the Ocean View Terrace. As part of the renovation, all of the lighting, flooring, finishes and furniture were replaced. The Ocean View Terrace has large windows to take advantage of the ocean view, as well as an outside dining terrace option for students and faculty.
To meet the certification requirements for the Kosher Kitchen, the new dining facility features 3 kitchens, all with new equipment, which serve up stone hearth pizzas, salads, Halal and Kosher options, as well as a 24/7 coffee and gelato bar. The project is LEED Gold certified through the USGBC.
