Scope Of Work
The addition features bird-safe glass, new Exhibits area, new Multi- Purpose Room that can be divided into four classrooms, or used as one large room for gatherings, weddings, etc. A relaxing fireplace is located in
the Reflection Area. The roof is ready to have a green roof installed.
The building is cooled and heated by geothermal wells.
The entire building and parking lot uses LED lights.
EDS saved costs in value engineering items. During Design the building increased to 13,700 sf, we brought it back to the original 12,700 sf. and helped make the building more consistent, example from soffit type handmade to two preformed soffits. Bidding is very important. We first bid the project in May (we indicated a 10-15% high bid) bids came in $500,000.00 over budget. We rebid the project in September and the bids came in $500,000.00 under budget.
EDS helped complete the building when the Architect abruptly closed down. Over 1,000 people attended the grand opening.
