Scope Of Work
The Greensburgh Public Library project included doubling the existing building square footage from 22,500 to 45,000 SF and upgrading the existing library. Although not LEED certified, the building has sustainable features including:
-An underground closed loop Geothermal System which lowers day to day heating and cooling costs for a long term savings.
-Automatically controlled lighting that dims the lights in the main reading room in the daytime and saves electricity.
-The majority of the materials are local to reduce trucking costs and recyclable.
-The lobby floor is made from recycled rubber tires.
Beatty, Harvey & Associates designed the new building which is situated on a major traffic artery (I-287) in Westchester County, NY. Taking Advantage of the views offered and the prominent site the image projects a Library read to offer programs to the community for years to come.
