Scope Of Work
The New Medical Examiner's Office for Mecklenburg County is the first building owned by Mecklenburg County to achieve a LEED Gold certification. The facility is designed to easily accommodate the 600 autopsies which are currently preformed by the county each year. The 16,000 sq. ft building features a large roof window in the main autopsy room which provides natural light to the procedure area, an outdoor serenity garden for grieving families, solar paneled lighting, recycled building materials, a storm-water design that limits disruption of natural hydrology and more. SCOPE administered the registration and documentation of the project by utilizing the LEED online v2.2 process to achieve Gold Certification.
