Scope Of Work
EOC Safety Deficiencies
BES D/B was awarded Correct EOC Safety Deficiencies Inpatient MH B137 at Tuscaloosa VAMC, AL. BES D/B will provide design/build services to renovate the mental health units, particularly Acute I and Acute II to meet the findings from the OIG Combined Assessment Program Review and the Mental Health Environment of Care Checklist. The scope includes installation of storefront doors at the work center on Acute and removal of shelving. Ceiling tile will be replaced with a metal ceiling tile and access panels will be installed in the ceiling grids. Security grilles will be installed over the diffusers. Flooring will be replaced and new metal doors will be installed in the seclusion rooms. New metal toilets and sinks will be installed in the seclusion room bathrooms. The living area recessed lights will be replaced with security lights. The lavatory faucets will be replaced with anti-ligature faucets in all bathrooms. Existing toilets and seats will be replaced with integral toilets. Bathroom doors and corner guards will be installed. Top door alarms will be installed on the doors. Lights in hallways will be replaced with tamper resist lighting. Fire sprinklers pendants on porches (3 porches) and exit signs with concealed bases will be replaced. A dutch door will be added at the work center on Acute II.
