Scope Of Work
As general contractor for the Kinder Morgan Geismar Logistics Center, EXCEL provided a total construction solution for Kinder Morgan’s terminal project. The scope of work consisted of site preparation, asphalt and concrete placement, structural steel and pipe spool fabrication and installation, equipment setting, underground pipe installation, and all aspects of electrical and instrumentation. The purpose of the terminal is to handle in- and outbound hazardous liquid chemicals via pipeline, truck, rail, and barge/vessel. EXCEL was contracted to construct the initial phase of the project, the truck and pipeline conveyance terminal including the regionally unique capability of drumming liquefied products. Subsequent phases will include construction of a barge, ship, and 24 car rail siding terminal as well as a tank car loading rack system.
