Scope Of Work
O'Shea Builders partnered with the Springfield YMCA to construct a new, modern recreational facility in downtown Springfield. The new facility is 88,000 square feet and includes a swimming pool, therapy pool, men’s and women’s health clubs, fitness facility, gymnastics, an elevated running track and racquetball courts.
Since the facility is located in the heart of downtown, the site is surrounded on all sides with high pedestrian and vehicular traffic, an active railroad track 6 feet away, and neighboring businesses and residential houses. O’Shea and our project partners developed a detailed communication and safety plan to ensure the project site and workers, along with everyone outside the project, remained safe during construction.
