- Project Location:
- Norman, OK
- Status:
- Completed
- Structure Type:
- Fire / Police Station
Scope Of Work
Located on the fast-growing west side of Norman, the 10,327 square-foot fire station has three drive-through bays, a safe room, a training room for 16, an exercise room to promote health, a residential look to complement the surrounding neighborhood and sleeps up to seven. Under the City of Norman's initiative, the station sought and received LEED Gold certification, which made it the first fire station in the state of Oklahoma to receive certification at that level. Some of the sustainable attributes include, a high-efficiency HVAC, a native landscape that requires no irrigation, more than 30 percent reduction in domestic water use, a covered patio, low-flow showerheads that use 60% less water, daylight sensors to dim the fluorescent lights in the Apparatus Bay and the carpet's backing is made up of 35% recycled soda and water bottles and 50% recycled glass.
