Scope Of Work

Mach 1 was awarded a subcontract to perform the site work including earthwork, clearing, erosion, water, sewer and storm drains for a new meeting facility for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  Project is scheduled to begin in early August 2018 and is located in Alpharetta, GA.  Mach 1 looks forward to another successful project and please check back soon for more updates!

September 13, 2018 - The site has been cleared and the majority of this site has been stripped and now we are beginning the mass excavation of the site.  Mach 1 has been working to install the outlet control structure and complete the detention pond ahead of the mass grading operations but one of the key pieces of work to be completed in order to really get moving is the connection to the existing county-maintained sewer system.  We are currently in the process of setting up to core the existing sanitary manhole at a depth of 12' deep however due to the close proximity to an adjacent stream, coupled with some pour soils, is causing some minor delays.  This is nothing Mach 1 can't handle but first and foremost, the work needs to be done safely followed by with the exacting standards we hold ourselves to.  Once the sewer is in, we can proceed with the 20+ foot filling operations, which will allow us to start laying some storm drains, cut out for a modular retaining wall and get the building pad to grade.  Check back soon for more updates!

October 11, 2018 - Mach 1 has been steadily working toward winding down at this project and over the past few weeks, we've turned over the building pad, cut out for the retaining wall, finished nearly all the mass grading and storm drainage and have installed the roof drains up to the buildings.  The sanitary sewer line is also installed up tot the building.  Mach 1 is working with the GC to allow the concrete subcontractor to install their foundations prior to us finishing the minor amount of remaining roof drains, in hopes that this prevents potential damages to the pipe while the foundations are being excavated.  Mach 1 is teaming up with T.W. Brown Contracting to install the fire mains and domestic water lines in order to accelerate the project schedule ahead of the upcoming Holidays and potential inclement weather.  In the coming weeks, we look to complete the screening and re-spread top soil, cut out for the two entrances ahead of the pavers, fire/domestic water lines, and grading for subgrades at the parking areas.  Check back soon for more updates!

July 9, 2019 - Mach 1 has been demobilized since early November 2018 as once the construction of the new building started, the General Contractor and its building trades required plenty of space to stage material, etc.  At the time, this site was experiencing heavy rain falls and it wasn't feasible to cut out for the parking lots in order for the paver to install their aggregate base so the collective decision was made to head on out until such time we are needed again.  That time has come and we are anticipating re-mobilizing this month to cut out for the parking areas, backfill the slope behind the modular retaining wall, screening and spreading of top soil and final pond touch ups and we can call this one done!  Check back soon for more updates.
