Scope Of Work
When Siren Studios needed to renovate one of their 8,000sf cyclorama/soundstages, they turned to S3 to facilitate and execute the project because of our expertise and agility. The scope of work included the removal of all sound attenuating materials such as insul-quilt, protective netting and subsequent topical treatments typically found in a soundstage and cyclorama, and the replacement of similar finishes to achieve a desired STC (Sound Transmission Class) and NRC (Noise Reduction Coefficient) ratings.
The end result was the transformation from a white soundstage to a black soundstage with increased filming flexibility and an improved STC and NRC rating. The client was able to increase the renting activity in this soundstage due to the capital improvements that resulted in a higher quality filming and recording environment it could offer to local independent entertainment professionals. Shortly after the completion of this project, this entire facility was leased to the global social media giant Buzzfeed, to house their Los Angeles-based entertainment studio.
