Scope Of Work
Hunter Roberts provided general contracting services to The Walt Disney Company for Phase 2 of their WPVI-TV 6 (ABC) broadcast facility reconstruction master plan project. During Phase 1, Disney opened a new 115,000-SF broadcast facility for the station, adjacent to the existing facility located at 4100 City Avenue in Philadelphia. Hunter Roberts provided demolition for the existing 24,000-SF broadcast facility. Safety and site coordination were top priority during the demolition phase due to the proximity of the new fully-operational broadcast facility. After demolition was complete, existing foundations were re-used to create a new steel structure on half of the existing footprint. This new van maintenance and garage structure now houses the loading dock, TV van parking, rooftop satellites, and features a metal panel wall with a green roof. Extensive site grading including landscaped walls were added to accommodate the grades from the existing building to the new broadcast facility.
