Scope Of Work
Hunter Roberts renovated the SEI Innovation Studio as part of the Kimmel Center’s master plan for long-term building improvements. The new 24’, high-glass, panel entrance to SEI Innovation Studio from the Spruce Street façade creates greater accessibility to the 200-seat black box theater on the lower level, which was previously hidden from streetscape view. A new square, glass light tube, known as the Column of Light, cuts through the floor of the Kimmel Center’s Commonwealth Plaza and descends into the lower level as an identifiable marker for SEI Innovation Studio on the street level. The project also included the renovation and expansion of the SEI Innovation Studio lobby and the enhancement of vertical circulation throughout the space.
