Scope Of Work
The Maple and Lafayette Bridge Rehab project included a rehab of the 1930’s era bridges that cross over the Arkansas and Missouri Railroad one block east of the University of Arkansas Campus. Both structures are listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and in order to retain that designation, special work was required to restore the bridges as close as possible to their original form. Crossland Heavy Contractors did the repair and rehab of the Maple and Lafayette Street bridges for continued vehicular and pedestrian traffic. The rehab consisted of removal of ¾” bridge deck which was replaced with 1.5” of modified concrete overlay. Crossland Heavy Contactors also made repairs to the localized substructure, sidewalk, barriers, existing retaining walls and installed bridge lighting features and associated bridge approach repairs.
