Scope Of Work
Situated on 10 acres, the new Fort Bend County Transit Facility includes a new 18,617-square-foot administration and operations building and a 28,375-square-foot maintenance facility to provide much-needed space for the ever-growing Fort Bend County Public Transportation Department. Other features include a fuel and wash station for buses, seven lifts for bus maintenance, two covered bus parking canopies and 450,000 square feet of concrete paving to provide parking for 183 pedestrian vehicles and 172 buses. This project complied with the Buy America program. Enacted by the Federal Transit Authority (FTA), the Buy America program requires that 100 percent of the steel, iron and manufactured goods used in an FTA-funded project be manufactured in the United States.
