Scope Of Work
The Livernois-McNichols Public Realm plan is an initiative of the City of Detroit that builds off the many strong institutional and neighborhood assets. The design plan transforms the commercial corridor from an auto-centric throughway to a complete street that supports walking and biking, becomes a vibrant public space and encourages commercial development.
The scope of the project includes an urban design vision for the Livernois and McNichols corridors that will address improvements to the street scape; pedestrian and bicycle transportation; traffic calming; parking; lighting; signage; public safety and security, creating a cohesive identity; incorporating green infrastructure and storm water management; and making the street a more inviting environment.
Spackman Mossop Michaels is the landscape architecture firm leading the project. DCDC is supporting with design work and community engagement.
