Scope Of Work
Hirschmann Automation and Control GmbH based in Neckartenzlingen, Germany, is a world leader in the communication and industrial electronics market. Hirschmann teamed up with the Chambersburg Area Development Corporation and Brechbill & Helman Construction Company, Inc. to design and build their new US headquarters in Chambersburg Pa, which included a 20,000 sq-ft. office and 15,000 sq-ft. assembly and distribution facility. A few of the numerous green initiative items desired by the owner included the use of no/low VOC products, native landscaping, use of materials from recycled items, energy efficient lighting with motion sensors and a multiple zone HVAC system with 24/7 controls. A clear story atrium is the central feature of the office with ribbon windows providing additional exterior light. The exterior features a natural stone veneer with a horizontal insulated metal panel.
