Scope Of Work
This $20+ million contract requires Metropolitan to maintain containers or compactors as needed to collect both recycled material as well as general mixed paper waste. These stations in the 4 Boroughs generate 1000 tons per month of recyclable material and mixed paper. Working at a personal level with the managers of each of the 267 stations and facilities, our service representatives give customized attention to the varying needs of the Postal Service – for instance, tailoring carting and compaction needs during the busy holiday season.
By working with the Postal Service for the past 6 years, Metropolitan was able to institute a recycling program which has increased the extraction of recyclable material from its waste stream, resulting in an annual savings of one million dollars ($ 1,000,000) to the Postal Service.
