Scope Of Work

A high achieving K-8, Christ Lutheran School gave Waltz and Orcutt | Winslow the opportunity to add 30,000 SF of classroom and meeting space on their active campus. The divide between the classic character of their iconic church and the expression of a dynamic education program was negotiated by repurposing the beautiful existing materials in innovative ways, saving energy for both parties. A mid-century modern inspired meeting room opens up with large windows and a vaulted wood ceiling announces the presence of the school along Indian School Rd. Day-lit classrooms with the latest technology surround a playfield in a classic cloister-sanctuary relationship to the church.
