Scope Of Work

After completing the original build-out for this client at The Shops of Legacy five years ago, Scott + Reid was contracted to finish-out new offices for the firm at the newly developed Legacy West.  Partnering with a Houston-based design group, the team collaborated in updating the company’s workplace design concept to take them into their next decade of business.

The project team was able to maximize the use of the 6,823-square-foot space to provide the client private offices, a break area, open area workstations, private restrooms and a conference room. The resulting design is an appealing, comfortable atmosphere highlighted by custom doors throughout, a high STC-rated partition providing flexible conference and lounge space, motorized roller shades interfaced with lighting and A/V controls and LED lighting.

Working alongside the shell building contractor required close coordination, especially for installation of base building MEP systems within the fast-tracked schedule. Scott + Reid utilized the manufacturer’s quick-ship program to receive HVAC systems in expedited format and worked with the subcontractor to retrofit and commission on-site, ensuring interface with the overall building MEP/EMS systems. Markel’s 24-hour IT system needs also required working through crucial base building elements to conform to standards.
