Scope Of Work
KPH Construction provided all labor, equipment, tools, materials, and supervision necessary to selectively demo and renovate an existing space for a new tenant (HHS-OIG). The project also required some lead and mold remediation as part of the project. The space received an upgraded sprinkler system, updated HVAC, electrical, new data closet, and an intricate access/security/intrusion detection system. The space also received new ceilings, millwork, finishes, and flooring throughout. New plumbing was installed as part of a breakroom area for the tenant.
There were several problems that the team was able to overcome during this project. During demolition, mold was discovered in an area of a previous leak. KPH was able to quickly identify and provide cost saving options to properly and completely remove. The next major issue was a prolonged government shut down which impacted the owner representation and action on the project. KPH maintained a presence onsite and continued to move the project forward in good faith. Once the shutdown was over and all personnel was back to work, the project picked back up with minimal interruption and delay. Another delay item was the coordination of the plumbing equipment to be placed under the sink. The design depth of the sink did not allow for proper installation of all components so a special order sink needed to be placed. Due to the long lead of the custom sink and funding process, it has pushed the final close out of the project out further than anticipated.
