Scope Of Work

THE CHALLENGE

This entire Honda dealership reflected the need of the owner (AutoNation) to upgrade the automotive brand (Honda) image program beyond the existing minimum specifications. Additionally, AutoNation desired to cap their on-going maintenance costs associated with the resurfacing and replacement of non-permanent service drive and shop floor coatings (epoxy paint and/or polished concrete). The showroom facility required an upgraded look, larger format tile and polished surface treatment. The service drive and shop facility required a permanent floor system that would last for the life of the facility (never need replacement), long term warranty (to be free of breakage) and a floor that is easy to clean and maintain. All of this had to be completed on a tight budget, compressed decision making time frame and even shorter installation execution. With AutoNation, flawless execution was required and no change orders are allowed!

AUTOSTONE’S ANSWER

AutoStone provided AutoNation and Honda representatives an upgraded tile at about the same price they could get the previously listed showroom tile. The upgrade features included a larger format, rectified edges (for a tighter grout joint upon installation) and a polished surface. AutoStone submitted samples that adhered to the image program aesthetics and within the budget constraint imposed by AutoNation and their GC contractor. All were approved for budget and ordered for delivery to the jobsite for installation. The service drive and shop floor system was the Enviroshop by AutoStone. This product is comprised of 54% recycled materials. This floor system is specifically designed for the automotive service and shop work areas. AutoStone provided quick solutions that correctly applied to the image program. They were on solutions that met their requirements, their budget and could be installed on schedule. AutoStone proved to be the best solution!

RESULTS FOR DEALERSHIP

AutoStone provided AutoNation a greatly improved aesthetic environment for the same price as other products that reflected a dated look (small format tiles, dull/matte finish tiles and temporary surface coatings). AutoStone provided Honda Dulles a better solution which was delivered on budget and on time. AutoStone capped the long-term (never ending) maintenance costs associated with epoxy coatings or polished concrete surfaces. They used Enviroshop – the PERMANENT floor system from AutoStone. This floor system has better performance features such as: rubber-retardant surface to minimize tracking and a textured surface to reduce slip-n-fall incidents. The AutoStone floor system for these critical dealership functions cap on-going maintenance costs for AutoNation facilities. AutoNation benefits from the AutoStone seven (7) year breakage/crack-free warranty along with the life-time cleaning/technical support. AutoStone delivered significant measurable savings, on-time construction completion and on-going service and support! AutoStone was the right product and the right solution!
