Scope Of Work
Clearwing was contracted by Casino Arizona to design and develop a
performance lighting and rigging system for the new showroom at the Talking
Stick Resort & Casino. Throughout the 3 month design and engineering
process, Clearwing developed an extensive infrastructure for both the lighting
and motor system that is expandable and forward thinking to meet the needs
of the Casino now and for many years to come.
The motorized rigging system at Casino Arizona consists of five main lighting
trusses manufactured by Tyler Truss that are suspended from CM Lodestar
half ton motors. The heart of the motorized control system is a series of
encoders, hubs and servers controlled via the Motion Labs automated
control system. The motion labs system allows programmable presets,
weight monitoring and safety protocols to be controlled from a portable
laptop from anywhere in the performance space.
High and low voltage distribution is managed through an SSRC pantograph
system allowing discreet management of the all cable, receptacles and
connections on each truss. All rigging systems were installed with backup safeties and multiple points of security to
ensure safe operation for many years to come.
The low voltage portion of the lighting system was designed with
expandability and flexibility in mind. The distribution of all DMX and
architectural control throughout the showroom is accomplished via
a Strand Lighting N21 Node infrastructure allowing distribution of
control signals over ShowNet to each truss, panel and fixture.
Strand lighting also provided the centralized dimming rack to
power all conventional ETC Source Four Fixtures. The Strand
VisionNet Architectural stations allow partitioning and control of
guest and VIP spaces as well as tactile control of house lighting at
each entrance.
Included in the design scope of the project was the ability for the system to convert to a night club space with minimum
effort and maximum control and effectiveness. The Strand VisionNet system, through the use of 7” touch screens,
allowed the DJ operators to trigger pre-programmed cue lists from the MA Lighting GrandMA console. All cues were
isolated to the custom designed “Club Truss” overhead of the dance space.
The MA Lighting GrandMA 1 console controls all Martin Mac 700 Spot & Wash, Mac 250 Entours and MX-10 fixtures as
well as a large installation of LED lighting consisting of Coemar LED Par-Lites and Color Kinetics Colorblast TR fixtures.
Effect elements are provided via Ultratec’s Radiance Hazer and a large Rose Brand fiber drape powered via 3 Martin
CMY150 illuminators.
